When your starting a new company or
a new effort in an old company, it pays

Many times during my 30 year business career I've had to
figure out where I wanted to go with a marketing effort or
business idea, I would write my things to do list, this is a
simple, much easier method than that. Try it.
Another tip, use your clipboard or notebook feature on your
computer to save those names, website addresses for later
transfer, or even entire pages of instructions from different
websites.
I also keep a running notebook in front of me at all times
Go to your Walmart or stationary store and purchase a
colored paper 5 subject, 180 sheet, College Ruled note
book, the kind you used in school. Write January 2010
on it and start using it to jot down hot ideas....phone
numbers, notes to yourself or whatever. When Feb
comes and you still have half the notebook left, just
write Feb on it and keep going.....
Of course you can use that computer notebook for that
too...I'm a little old school.

"Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever.Great stories. But two things made me take it down.
First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.
Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn't realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). While you may eventually want to create a presence on more than one social media site, you don’t need to dive into all of them at once. It’s one thing to participate in social media but to do so without a plan can be frustrating and even damaging to your business. You know, maybe this idea is not "radical" enough, but common sense dictates ...
I am curious if the Record Searchlight would be interested in helping to promote the idea of forming a committee to raise the funds and budget for a booth in next year's State Fair.
Shasta County was not represented there (I worked it) and many smaller counties were.
I am told we missed 1 million visitors over the 14 days. I have worked 100 shows and fairs and would be willing to help organize and manage the booth.
Can we not bring all cities and county, businesses and colleges, industrial park, all together to promote our county and north state cities?
We could help you build your Web audience at the same time, or not.
I've mentioned it several times. No one seems interested. Am I missing something here?
I feel this is a Chamber of Commerce issue, but I guess they don't.
